Glass, frame, or the wall around it
Fog between the panes means the insulated glass has lost its seal. That can be a sash or a full unit, depending on the window. A stain on the drywall under the window may be the sill, the flashing, or the siding above it. Replacing the glass does not fix a wet opening.
We look at how the window is fastened and how the head flashing sheds water. A new window set in a rotten frame opening will leak on the first hard rain.
What goes on the quote
The quote lists the size, the style, and whether we are replacing the insert or the full frame. Trim that has to be replaced is listed too. We do not fold rotten wood into a 'standard install' and surprise you on install day.
If several windows are fogged and one is leaking, you can replace the failed seals now and deal with the leak separately. We will say which openings actually need to come out.
