DeKalb is northeast of Fayetteville. Lithonia and Stonecrest are the closer drives. Decatur, Stone Mountain, Tucker, and Brookhaven are on the list too. The county has a dense mix of older homes and later subdivisions, and both show up in the same week of appointments.
Roof leaks here often travel. Water gets under a valley, shows up in a ceiling, and has also been running down a wall onto the siding. We would rather find that on the inspection than after a roof-only quote. Windows with failed seals are common on streets where the whole subdivision was built together.
Unincorporated DeKalb and the cities inside it use different building departments. Decatur is not the county counter. We confirm the jurisdiction from the street before a permit is part of the schedule.
